Possible Hitching Posts in front of the Gardner House, circa 1910

Back to locating hitching posts at the Gardner House, which became the Morris Inn and is now dormant. I am uploading a postcard postmarked Aug 17, 1910 6 AM -- Morris, N.Y. You'll see the front of the card, the back with a message to a woman in Oneonta, NY. Click on the links below to see three detail photos. One of the corner of the building, one with possible hitching posts underlined, and finally a detail of a fountain a bit up East Main St. Added is an image of a jockey hitching post that perhaps resembles the hitching post on the left side of the detail image.

Something went wrong with the water supply to the fountain in 1907. Its repair by Commissioner Folts was reported in the attached April 10, 1907 issue of The Morris Chronicle, page 3, column 2, 5th paragraph from the bottom.
